The 5 pin male/female screw connector to USB (male connector) type A plug has a few bench uses for me. I can use scope or meter to trace path on PCB and socket was cut or not. Sometimes I need to use to tap 5Volts or inject 5V. For a test, might have used this screw post to USB male connector with the opposite USB female connector socket to screw post as a special splice tap. It is way better than trying to hold probes inside a USB socket and not risk shorting things out.
